The day we celebrate mom – Mother’s Day – is coming soon, so you know it won’t be long until the crafters will come out in force to design gifts for their moms. This means some of them will need printable vintage Mother’s Day cards, which their gifts. Many crafty types prefer vintage, because it has a timeless look that just goes right along with honoring moms.
The same idea goes for scrapbooking. Whether digital or traditional scrapbooks are preferred, vintage images make them all the more special. Take for example, these vintage flower border scrapbook embellishments. They were a staple in Victorian days and could be found in the scrapbooks of genteel ladies. These beautiful hand-painted borders often accompanied the word “Mother” as a way of honoring dear old Mom. That practice lives on as modern scrapbookers celebrate Mother’s Day.
Naturally, the embellishments that work so well to honor Mom can also make distinctive hand-crafted Mother’s Day cards. The beautiful flowers make a perfect point of focus in a Mother’s Day card. They also look terrific as a 3D element. If the border is printed on card stock, the inside and outside edge details can be cut around and layered over another element, such as a photo of Mom. The photo will appear in the “window”created, and the result will look like a fancy picture frame.
All the non-crafters out there can also make a free Mother’s Day gift. Just choose one of these free Mother’s Day blank certificates and download it. The blank certificates already have the date and a message to Mom on them, so they just have to be signed once they’re printed. Of course, a frame would enhance the certificate even more. The frame doesn’t have to be extravagant. Any mom would love it, no matter what the frame looks like.
So this Mother’s Day, give a homemade gift from your heart. It will be simple for you, and you might be surprised at the final effect. If you go this route your mom is sure to be thrilled, which will make her love you all the more. She might even request a similar present next year for Mother’s Day.
