Learning about antiques furniture can be enjoyable and profitable, too

If you were ever curious about how to make money from a hobby you enjoy, try looking at trading in antiques as a way to supplement your income or to monetize your hobby expenses.

I can recall way back when I was dragged to galleries and peoples' houses while my mother was either selling or buying antuques clipper ship paintings or expensive Lalique vases.I couldn't believe the differenc ein the selling and buying prices in the antiques trading market, and that's pretty much th eonly thing I enjoyed seeing when dragged to those places with m ymother when I was younger.

But when I realized th eprofit margin she was experiencing form doing this, I became very interested in the income potential to trading in antiques.Honestly, I worked a lot when I was a youngster, with morning afternoon, and Sunday paper routes to go along with my caddying at the local golf course.  The positive side to all of this work was that I was somewhat self-sufficient as a 9-year-old and always had cash in my pocket, while none of my friends did.

Anyways, the potential for profit by deliving into the antiques furniture niche market is a lot higher than the one of buying low and selling high for vases and paintings.  With the antiques market, and the advent and popularity of the Antiques Road Show, more people are going through their old storage areas and attics to see if there are any treasures locked away. With more people becoming interested in their antiques, the sellers are becoming more informed while also causing more antiques to be brought to market.

If you go through your keepsakes and forgotten stored-away items, you may find a valuable treasure of your own, but the most important thing you could do is to educate yourself about the value of the items you possess and the value of items for sale at yard sales, flea markets, and even in the Forsale section of newspapers. There are many othe rplaces you can find good deals on antiques, and CraigsList and eBay are two of them.
