This is a nice pair of maps for wall display. They’re printed on uncoated paper, but arrived rolled and wrapped in plastic film so they don’t have any creases.
The world map is the Mercator projection, covering the area to roughly 75 degrees north/south latitude. Detail is pretty good, with cities and political boundaries clearly indicated.
You can find various diatribes on the web about the use of the Mercator projection vs other projections that preserve area or attempt to balance distortion of shapes and angles vs distortion of area, but to make a long story short, this map preserves shapes. bearings, and other angles, at the cost of a scale that increases with latitude. Look for a Winkel Tripel projection or a Robinson projection map if you want something that balances the trade-offs, or a Behrmann projection if equal area and a rectangular shape is what you’re most interested in.
The US map appears to be the standard Lambert conical projection, covering the 48 contiguous states, with insets for Alaska and Hawaii. Cities are marked down to about pop 200,000 or so.
Both maps have flags and some other stuff down in the bottom margin. Not much present in the way of physical geography or ocean detail.

These maps are huge and PERFECT! We have them hanging on our wall and every time we read or hear about something we go and look it up on either the US map or the World map. My kids LOVE being able to see where these places are in relation to us. Quality maps and they were shipped unbelievably fast.
